Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief

To celebrate Valentine’s Day with my children, I took them to see “Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief.”

My oldest is 8 years old. I thought this would be a great movie for her to watch and secretly, I was hoping there wouldn’t be any dating/kissing scenes that I’d have to address later. Fortunately for me, there wasn’t!

Percy Jackson stumbles upon a secret kept from him his entire life. As his identity is revealed, he’ll embark upon a quest to right a wrong and save a loved one. Along the way, he’ll discover much about himself and make new friends.

The movie was terrific to watch! It actually coincided with a Greek mythology book I recently gave to my daughter. Suddenly, all the things we read about *clicked* for her and learning became fun. My favorite character? – Uma Thurman as Medusa of course!
